Primary Boys and Girls, Ages 5-10
Kenesserie Camp is committed to providing top quality camp programs for all who attend. Camp is a special place where everyone feels at home. Campers are encouraged to take responsibility, to make decisions, and to exercise initiative through positive interaction. Every opportunity is provided for self-expression and self-discovery. The campers are at the centre of all we do at camp.
When you send your little one to a 3 night camp they stay in a cabin with six other campers their age. The group becomes a family unit doing most activities together. Your child will become comfortable taking risks in a safe environment opening them up for many new opportunities they might not experience elsewhere. We have seen our campers’ self esteem grow as they grow at camp. Our campers learn to become part of a community and are given opportunity to shine during Chapels, campfire skits and songs and various theme related activities. A counsellor will spend the whole week with the campers. Our counsellors go through a rigorous week of training where they are taught to care for their campers. Our counsellors are super with little ones. They are bedtime story specialists, meal time organizers, appropriate clothing sergeants and will make sure your child is hydrated and slathered with sunscreen each day. Our campers are our first priority! Primary Camp is an excellent way to introduce your child to being away from home without the duration being too long. We find our Primary campers are so busy they have little time to think about home.
Each week at Kenesserie has a fun program theme (eg. Back in Time, Down on the Farm) to go along with traditional camp programming such as Environmental Learning, Christian Education, Orienteering, Hiking, Vespers, Outdoor Cooking and Camping, Drama, Games, Singing, Campfires, Wide games, Cabin time, Crafts, Nature, Swimming, Ravine Hikes, Archery and so much more. Campers will have a one night overnight where they will cook their supper over an open fire and sleep under the stars. Each week the program theme is highlighted with a special Theme Dinner on Thursday. Come to Primary Boys & Girls to meet new friends and have a blast participating in themed activities.
