2008 Staff

Fire Extinguisher training pictureAt Kenesserie we are committed to the care of your child.  Each camper is grouped with six other children and a counselor who is responsible for the supervision and care for their cabin group throughout the week.

All staff are hired and trained by the Camp Director and Board of Directors.  Our Director is Nancy Walker.

Our Senior Staff team, who coordinate our spring and summer programs with the Directors, bring with them a variety of camping and life experiences.  This years senior team is:

Program Coordinator - Brent Dickson
L.I.T. Coordinator - James Mayo
Christian Education Coordinator - Katie O'Neil
Health Care - Cheryl Tran

Staff members are Senior High, College and University students.   Each year staff are selected prior to the camping season and go through a week long training period prior to the beginning of camp as well as a training weekend in May.   Topics that are covered include child care, emergency procedures, fire care, recreation leadership, first aid, Christian Education, behaviour strategies, policies and procedures, special needs counseling and care, child abuse, outdoor camping and cooking  and many more relevant topics. 

Our camper to staff ratio is 4:1.  Each camp is staffed with a qualified First Aid person who is responsible for the Health Care at camp.

Staff hiring packages are sent out to returning staff and any interested individuals at the beginning of December.  Please Contact The Camp if you are interested in becoming a staff member with Kenesserie.
