Kenesserie Camp is in need of volunteers to serve on our Committees and to assist with various projects for the Board of Directors.Â

Summer is over and fall is a time when our Committees begin to plan for the next year. Much work is required in order to have a successful camp. Sadly we are few in number and frankly, we need your help.

PLEASE consider how you can help. Many hands make the work go easier. We currently have 14 volunteer Board members to shoulder all the work. We could really use more people on the committees who are not Board members but who have a strong desire to see Kenesserie Camp continue providing good quality programming to children.

We could really use help in the following areas:

PROGRAM COMMITTEE – Programming:

  • Program planning ( fall)
  • Brochure preparation & printing ( fall)
  • Brochure mailing (Dec - Jan)
  • Out-tripping program mentoring (spring & summer)
  • Nature Studies program mentoring (spring & summer)
  • Christian Education program mentoring (spring & summer)
  • Health Care/Safety mentoring (spring & summer)
  • Craft program mentoring (spring & summer)
  • Kitchen – menu planning & food supply requirements (spring & summer)
  • Kitchen – food preparation (spring & summer)

PROGRAM COMMITTEE – Staffing

  • Staff application mailing (Nov)
  • Staffing requirement planning (fall)
  • Staff Interviews (Dec - March)
  • Staff Training events (May & June)

PROPERTY COMMITTEE (spring thru fall)

  • Van maintenance
  • Pond maintenance
  • Pool maintenance (opening & closing, equipment repairs)
  • Windmill project
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Carpentry work
  • Glass & screen repairs
  • Grass cutting (spring & fall)
  • Gardening & plant care
  • Campfire wood supplies
  • JennerTrail maintenance
  • Camp opening clean-up (April)

Depending on the Committee, generally meetings are once a month.Â

Some of our volunteer opportunities do not require attendance at regular Committee meetings. We just require your helping hands.

You do not have to attend the Board meetings if you are a Committee member or other volunteer but you are always welcome to. Board of Directors meet every month or as required.
